Abstract
The presentation will review the main archival sources related to Horticulture in the National Archives (central and local). Among other documents from public and private institutions, these include those of prominent personalities in Romanian public life, totaling approximately 350 km of archives belonging to the so-called National Archives Fund.
Unfortunately, the lack of care of some institutions for documents of historical value (and not only) makes some of these archives incomplete or missing.
Even so, our archives contain numerous documents that can serve as the basis for specialized studies.
We will present a varied palette of documents regarding the horticultural activity in Romania, starting from the 19th century and up to the 21st century, of some central and local institutions (Educational Units, Research Institutes, Agricultural Enterprises, etc.). Thus, we will follow the photo-documentary evolution of this beautiful activity, which ensures our daily nutrition but also stimulates our senses.
