Abstract
A survey focused on the flowering and fruiting behaviour of pistillate "Hayward" cv. was carried out in four different environments of southern Italy.
The training system considered was the pergola.
The relative occurence and distribution along the cane of flower and vegetative buds and shoots, together with the percentage unsprouted buds were determined.

The number of flowers per bud, per shoot, per flowering shoot and the distribution of these parameters along the cane were calculated.
The relative occurence of unsprouted and vegetative buds was relevant.
The flowers/flowering shoot ratio was similar to data reported in others environments, while the flowers/bud ratio was lower; moving to the tip of the cane the buds showed an higher flowers/flowering shoot ratio.
Finally the distribution of the flowers along the shoot appeared slightly affected by the environmental conditions.
