Abstract
The influence of N and K, given at 3 different levels of fertilization (100–200–300 and 0–100–200 Kg/ha respectively) in a randomized split-plot experimental design was evaluated.
At the beginning of August the uptake of mineral elements was evaluated through leaf analysis.
Similarly at the harvest the mineral content was analyzed in fruit.
Furthermore the quality of the fruit was checked evaluating the flesh firmness, the souble solids and titratable acidity, at harvest and after 3 months of storage.
The results of the first year of the trial indicate a better effect on the yield in the thesis fertilized with 200 units of N and K. High level of N (300 units) decrease the yield.
Fruit quality has not been influenced significantly by the fertilization.
