Abstract
Shoot apices of greenhouse carnation /Dianthus caryophyllus L./ cv.Scania 3 C were cultured on the modified Murashige and Skoog medium containing 0,5 mg/l BA, which induced multiplantlets formation.
Histological changes and organogenesis of adventitious buds were studied on the 1-st,3-rd,5-th,7-th, 11-th and 15-th days of the culture.
Histological studies showed that adventitious buds had formed from the epidermis of leaves and from the epidermis and subepidermal parenchyma of the shoot apex base.
This exogenous origin of adventitious buds should cause phenotypical agreement of progeny plants with the original plant.
