Abstract
Activation of abscission zone located between pedicel and fruit (AZ3) is preceded by a reduction of the tissue transport capacity, a block of IAA conjugation and an increase of IAA decarboxylation (Ramina et al., 1984). Since peroxidases and IAA oxidases are known to play a role in IAA metabolism, changes in activity of these enzymes as related to the induction phase of abscission were investigated.
