THE EFFECTS OF REGULATORS OF ETHYLENE SYNTHESIS ON ROOTING OF OLEA EUROPAEA L. CUTTINGS

ACC (l-aminocyclopropane-l-carboxylic acid), AVG (2-aminoethoxyvinyl-glycine) and IBA (indole-3-butyric acid) were used as basal treatments to olive cuttings at different times after excision to study their influence on rooting.
ACC alone did not reduce rooting, and was able to improve the IBA effects.

AVG was always detrimental, when its action was not counteracted by ACC. Irrespective of the nature of treatment, the timing of the treatment stress appeared decisive on the rooting response.
