Abstract
A method for the injection of growth regulators (GR) based on gravity has been adapted to citrus trunk and branches.
The translocation of GR into the tree was confirmed by the physiological responses elicited: promotion (by CCC) and inhibition (by GA3) of flower formation in shy bearing orange trees, as well as increase of initial set in ‘Clementine’ and improvement of peel viability in ‘Dancy’ tangerines (by GA3). The differences in expected performance between foliar application and injection are discussed.
