Abstract
A new culture medium was used in experiments with rooting shoots of Schattenmorelle sour cherry in tissue culture.
The medium contained macro- and microelements according to Murashige and Skoog (M.S.), IBA at 2.0 mg/l as currently recommended, and IAA at the increased concentration of 5.0 mg/l.
Best rooting was obtained when, after 3 days in the above medium, shoots were transferred to a medium without auxins.
Besides the high percent of rooting, the root system and the leafy sprouts were well developed while the formation of callus was poor.
The media with 2 or 3 mg/l IBA also gave a high percent of rooted shoots but the root system was poorer and the development of callus stronger.
