Abstract
Donggang City in Liaoning Province is a famous strawberry production area in China, and the main cultivar is ‘Benihoppe’. In recent years, we have built a kind of simple and efficient plastic house treatment device, explored different low-temperature and short-day treatment experiments, carried out the gradient control of the temperature treatment, and selected the best treatment project.
The plants of ‘Benihoppe’ could harvest fresh fruits in middle November through short-day and night cold treatment, 25 to 30 d earlier than conventional cultivation, which had a higher price and a better benefit with additional more than 30,000 yuan 666.7 m‑2. This technology has been widely applied in Donggang city of Liaoning Province.
In this paper, the methods of low-temperature and short-day treatments of ‘Benihoppe’ and the super-forcing cultivation technology of were summarized.
