Abstract
Various phytopathological disorders frequently occur during strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) seedling propagation and production cycles, particularly in controlled-environment cultivation systems.
These disease complexes are exacerbated by monocropping practices, rhizosphere microclimate dysregulation, and progressive cultivar susceptibility erosion.
Inadequate scientific management may result in yield losses exceeding, ultimately jeopardizing the sustainable development of strawberry industries.
This study systematically characterizes six predominant strawberry diseases in Donggang production areas: 1) anthracnose (Colletotrichum spp.), 2) powdery mildew (Podosphaera aphanis), 3) gray mold (Botrytis cinerea), 4) red stele root rot (Phytophthora fragariae), 5) Phytophthora disease (Phytophthora cactorum), and 6) bacterial angular leaf spot (Xanthomonas fragariae). For each pathogen, we delineate etiology, symptoms, epidemic and integrated management strategies incorporating resistance cultivar, cultural practice optimization and targeted agrochemical applications.
