Abstract
In order to enrich the strawberry cultivars in Guiyang, the phenological period of 12 strawberry cultivars were observed, the stolon growth, plant growth, disease resistance, yield and quality indexes of each cultivar were systematically analyzed, and their production performance were comprehensively evaluated in the present study.
The results showed that stolon number ranged from 7 to 13, and the two cultivars, ‘Qianmei No.1’ and ‘Qianmei No.2’, exhibited the highest reproduction coefficients, while ‘Akihime’ and ‘Ssanta’ showed relatively lower one.
The cultivar ‘Benihoppe’ had the highest plant height, petiole and pedicel growth.
There were differences in disease resistance among different cultivars. ‘Hongyu’ was susceptible to anthracnose, and the incidence of seedlings was 33.33%; ‘Kaorino’ was susceptible to powdery mildew, and the incidence rate of fruit was 29.73%; ‘Akihime’ was susceptible to gray mold, and the incidence of fruit was 12.00%. The difference of fruit maturity among the 12 cultivars was about 50 days.
Fruits of the cultivars, ‘Qianmei No.2’, ‘Kaorino’ and ‘Yuexin’, matured earliest, while ‘Yuexiu’ and ‘Lixue’ matured relatively late.
The average single fruit weight of ‘Qianmei No.1’, ‘Yuexiu’ and ‘Benihoppe’ was more than 23.00 g, and the yield was higher than 30 t hm‑2. The fruit hardness of ‘Lixue’ and ‘Yuexiu’ was higher than 1.55 kg cm‑2. The soluble solid contents of ‘Ssanta’, ‘Kaorino’, ‘Benihoppe’ and ‘Hongyu’ ranged from 10.90 to 11.78% which was higher than the other cultivars.
It is shown that ‘Yuexiu’, ‘Benihoppe’ and ‘Qianmei No.1’ were more suitable to cultivate in Guiyang based on all the results.
