Research on the influence of some technological links on the production and quality of some genotypes of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) preserved in the Suceava Genebank

Bean farming has suffered a significant decline in the past decades in Romania.
As a consequence, the deficit of dry beans dedicated to internal consumption has expanded at rather high rates.
The aim of this study is that of highlighting methods of bringing bean farming back into the field of interest of Romanian farmers, solutions that are as economically efficient as they are inexpensive to implement within the farming technology practices for this species.
Taking into account the recent rise in the price of fertilizers, beanfarming plays a crucial role in the crop rotation practice due to the beans’ capacity tonitrogen fixation into the soil, a process specific for the plants from the Fabaceae family that is realized in symbiosis with the bacteria from the Rhizobium genus.
The target of this study was to combine different doses of nitrogen and phosphorus-based fertilizers with varying doses of biofertilizer which contained the Rhizobium leguminosarum and Rhizobium phaseoli bacteria so as to apply them to different crop bean cultivars and observe the qualitative and quantitative evolution of them.
