The influence of some foliar fertilizers on the growth and quality of vegetable seedlings from the Cucurbitaceae family

Abstract

The first step in obtaining rich harvests is to use on planting a vigorous and healthy seedling.
During the seedling production period, the application of foliar fertilizers has a positive influence on vegetative growth.
There were applied 5 foliar fertilizer, which have the following composition: inactive brewers yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), dose 8 kg ha^‑1; seaweed (Ascophyllum nodosum) and minerals, dose 2 L ha^‑1; Pseudomonas putida 10⁸ CFU mL^‑1, dose 4 L ha^‑1; Ascophyllum nodosum, organic nitrogen and carbon of a biological nature, alginic acids, mannitol, betaine, K₂O, dose 3 L ha^‑1; mineral elements (N, P, K, Fe, Mg, Zn, Cu, Ca, Mo, Co), plant growth stimulators, auxins, cytokinins gibberellins, organic enzymes, dose 2 L ha^‑1. All products used had a favorable influence on growth (height, stem diameter, root fresh weight, shoot fresh weight, leaves dry matter) and quality (content of N total, K, Ca, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Mo, B) in cucumber, melon and zucchini seedlings.
